Getting from the classroom chair to the office chair. . .
Sitting through Accounting 101 as the professor is going on through the lesson, a question peaked in my head. I’m going to college to earn my degree and receive my CPA license, but how do I get from the classroom chair to the office chair? I’m sure that I am not the only college student of this particular field, or of any other fields, who have pondered this question and drew a blank. The classroom teaches how to do the basics of the career job being pursued, but not how to get there. . .
So, how did I personally make the leap from the classroom to the conference room? CollegeCentral.com was the key to unlock the door to the career job of my dreams. This website allows college students to submit their resumes to the website where different companies can review potential future employees, specifically college students. This website creates a wonderful opportunity for college students to gain experience and expand their knowledge of the field they wish to enter.
As a student, I was on the receiving end of the offers. As a business owner this is a great place to find applicants in need and interested in your business field. I myself received several offers to work in private accounting firms before finally picking the right job that I not only can learn from, but fit perfectly with my school schedule. Most importantly, the job of my dreams was knocking at MY door, and CollegeCentral.com was the key.
